Thatched Cottages by Jeff and Val - Oct 2016
These are the great new thatched cottages built designed and painted by Jeff and Val

After a few years of wanting to do some thatched roof models they decided to make and design the masters themselves and contributed their fantastic idea to the website.

To celebrate our 3rd Birthday since the launch they build these 2 models and created the master roof parts which are now in production and available in the shop.

I think you will agree that this brings a whole new dimension to the hobby

What an amazing awesome job !!

Aug 2014 - Model of the Month

Well this month it has to over to Rob again for his magnificent contribution in bringing the ultimate tunnel to life, Combining the Tunnel / Bridge into his amazing lock scene

July 2014 - Model of the Month

I think we have to hand it to Jeff for this month - his fantastic water wheel project is a real credit to him. Jeff began his Linka building passion less than a year ago and since has moved from strength to strength, not only has Jeff articulated his ability to improvise but has also demonstrated his keen eye for detail, making this model look so realistic. Not to mention what a great job he has achieved of the paint job and weathering.
The Water Wheel kit

It was some time ago when Jeff contacted me on the website, being very keen and enthusiastic I told Jeff about how we would like to start introducing the Kits for new members to get started with this great building medium. Jeff jumped on the opportunity and thats where this story began. we got Tony (Our now resident Linka engineer) to use his talents to create us the new Wheel, then Jeff set off not only building this great model but also working on the brand new building plans, which we are hoping to have available on the website very soon.

Great Job Jeff. Top job

June 2014 - Model Of the Month

Well Rob never ceases to amaze me - how about this fantastic 1930s Garage!!

what a fantastic credit this is to him, with all that detailing, from the paint job to the fantastic signs it must have took an incredible amount of effort, so our hats are off to you Rob - Another masterpiece.

If you want to see Robs great new article on how he created this model it will be on the website very soon.

Featured Model - March 2014

Jeff has done a great job of this pub "the crooked Pot" made from his own design and although it was April when he submitted it, I thought it deserved its own place as the march feature because i know he has been working on it so much over the last month.

great work Jeff.

Featured Model - February 2014

My first Linka Church - By Sarah

Sarah has done a fantastic job of creating the lovely church. I love the attention to detail and all those final touches so think it deserves to be the featured model for February.

"The church took longer to  make than my previous buildings, mainly because of the steeple, As I do not have a mould. So I compromised by making a cardboard template , laid it onto the moulded roof piece drew around it and cut 4 pieces the same.I glued them together and used Milliput superfine to fill the edges, making ridges."

Featured Linka Model - January 2014

By Rob Tossen
These have been built from my own ideas and observations. No plans were used for any of the buildings, but simply "laid out" until a satisfactory arrangement was found. Where possible LINKA castings were used as much as possible, but I have used "bits & pieces" to achieve finished results!
I think you will agree Rob has done a great job here and the attention to detail is a real credit to his fantastic models
