Project 01 - The church

Overview
A small traditional church that we all see in many towns and villages, this was the first Linka model I created and was a pleasure to build.

The completed Link Model Church
As this was the first building, I never took all the photos, in fact at the time I started the project I had no idea i was even going to build this website, so you will find that the later projects are much more detailed.

However if you look in the files on this website and look at the Village Church plans you will see this model was almost the same, I did not work from the plans, I just looked at model which is now in the gallery and made it up as I went along, so it may be a good idea to start there or just click on each image on this page and it will zoom to show you the detail

Painting the model was another story, I used acrylic paints, painted the whole model in a light colour so the paint went in the mortar lines, then mixed a darker stone colour and lightly painted over the stone, then a bit darker and painted a few bricks and so on until I got the results you see above. I highly recommend you glue a few cast together and practice first.

As this was the first Model I have created I did not go to far in the details but you should have enough views here to complete this Model, it is a nice easy one to do and if your a beginner I would recommend it as a good starting point
