where to start?, since this site was launched only 8 weeks ago, I have been working hard getting in touch with as many enthusiasts as I can and there are quite a few a people still very interested in building with Linka, I have a few members now helping to build the interest and doing a great job sending content to add to the site, so much so that at the moment I cannot get it all on here fast enough. recently I added the Build Workshop and there is already a project there created by one of the sites members known as timbologist I must say he has done a great job and is already helping me so much, its more like we are all working together so all i see myself as is the moderator, because its all of us that share this great hobby.
So whats new new Build workshop area is now in place, new files for building plans, newsletters are in progress, facebook page now online so we can build our audience, new featured section in the Linka Model Gallery, more projects underway in the step by step projects area. and a host of other small additions. if anyone out there wants to do a project or do a step by step of a model they are building please go ahead and contact me using the contact page, trust me it just comes to me and I will encourage you all the way. I will keep posting new updates to the site on this thread for the next few weeks as there is a lot go

Having found I can not get hold of the original linka plastic windows as they at no longer manufactured, I am in the process of re creating some new styles as well as creating as close as I can some of the originals. I will be selling them on eBay but at virtually cost price as I run this site just for enthusiasts it will go a little way to helping fund this website and will give you builders a cheap effective solution so you can complete your models. I have been trying lots of different plasters to see which works best in the linka moulds. You will see on the site I have used herculite 2 a lot. But when you try to do the larger plastic moulds it warps due to the expansion whilst drying, especially on the large roof moulds, so I have been combining a number of plasters together and so far getting fantastic results, stronger, longer working time before setting takes place, as well as solving the expansion problems. I will be posting all the findings very soon on the plaster page and on this blog. What do you remember about Linka and where did you find out about it, For me it was in the Redgates toy store in Sheffield when i was a young boy, then I rediscovered it only 2 months ago by accident on ebay.
Just say hello and lets all get sharing and talking
